Welcome to the 5 Week Challenge

These next 5 weeks are going to change your life! There will be so much information covered and you will learn so many great things to carry with you throughout your entire fitness and health journey. Not only will you be getting some great workouts and be challenged during this 5 weeks, but the information you pick up will be with you long term.

Some of you know me very well or have worked with me one on one in the past. Some of you are new and haven't had an opportunity to work with me in a one on one bases. I am extremely grateful that you all have trusted me with such an important area of your life.

Today, I wanted to share a bit about me, who I am, what I do, where I came from so you know who you are working with.

I am Sarah! I am an adventurer and love to get creative and crafty. I have been married for 8 years to my high school sweetheart and we have two daughters, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. We love to travel and hike. We have been slowly remodeling our home for the past 6 years which has been one of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy designing and sending projects to my husband who is an engineer and is mostly willing to bring them into fruition. In college, I studied exercise and health science and minored in art. Art is my hobby and passion. It keeps me grounded. I try to incorporate it into my life as much as possible!

After graduating from college, I initially had plans to continue my education and pursue physical therapy. However, I quickly changed my tune once I received my first student loan payment 😂. Someone mentioned something about being a personal trainer and I had honestly NEVER considered this area because of my initial perception. I honestly thought personal trainers were meatheads, bikini models, or diet culture obsessed. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of those out there. However, when I started my career, it was always my goal to keep my integrity as a female in a male dominant industry. I believe I have successfully maintained my plans to promote body positivity and emphasizing overall health and wellness as opposed to weight loss and how women should look in a bikini.

Fitness has brought me so much joy in my life. I have created the best friendships and relationships with so many amazing people working in this field. I have raised my children in an environment where fitness is not a punishment, but something that makes us feel good. My husband and I recognize each other's need to workout when we are feeling extra stressed or overwhelmed. My career choice has been infused into every aspect of my life.

This year, I have endured one of the biggest challenges of my life. In January, I suffered a traumatic knee injury that I am STILL recovering from. For me, 2020's impact reached further when COVID hit. My fitness life changed drastically.

This year has been exceptionally challenging all of us. After seeing the toll of quarantine and COVID on everyone around me, it became my passion to find a way to reach out to as many people as I could who had never considered fitness in their lives. After spending the first month of COVID restrictions completely sedentary due to my knee surgery, my mental health really suffered. Exercise was the most important way I could improve my mood and it was taken away from me due to my knee injury and surgery recovery. I realized, also, how many of my friends who lost access to their gym's suffered with the drastic change in their health environment. It became clear that everyone should be performing some type of exercise in order to maintain sanity, happiness, and joy.

I have been working all year on a great program to help keep you motivated and healthy. I am happy to finally bring this 5 Week Challenge to you!

My hope for you over this next 5 weeks is this:

  • To find a way to incorporate productive movement into your daily life.

  • To reward yourself (not punish) with movement.

  • To recognize how daily movement improves all areas of your life.

  • To get away from toxic diet and weight loss cultures.

  • To meet new people who have goals that differ from you, and appreciate each unique journey.

  • To love yourself and love the process.

I am incredibly excited to see how you change over the next 5 weeks. I will be posting more information to set you up for success. I do understand that time management is always the most challenging, so please reach out if you have any specific questions or concerns!

I am YOUR coach and trainer and I am here to see you succeed!!!
